Living Well in Prince George's County

Port Towns News

Maryland Nonprofits was proud to announce that End Time Harvest Ministries (ETHM) was #9 out of 4000 Prince George’s County nonprofits to  achieve the distinguished honor of receiving The Standards for Excellence (SFE) Certification at the close of ETHM’s 20th Anniversary Gala on May 25, 2016, at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center. What impressed many people in the audience of approximately 400 patrons was that Rev. Gail A. Addison accredited two major county nonprofit leaders of Joe’s Movement Emporium and The Training Source, for ETHM’s success in addition to ETHM’s Board, Port Towns family and others for their collaborative spirit and partnership with ETHM through the organization’s 20-year existence.  Rev. Addison says, “ETHM will be ever striving to achieve excellence and to prove worthy of the SFE Seal”.  “We’ve come this far by faith and it is God who will strengthen us to keep improving ourselves and to help others who desire to do the work that it takes to achieve the SFE Certification”.

After many years of rigorous pursuit, ETHM finally achieved its goal--The Standards for Excellence®Certification, An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector (the code), which is the centerpiece of the Standards for Excellence® program. The standards evaluate principles of honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, trust, responsibility, and accountability in nonprofit program operations, governance, human resources, financial management and fundraising.

The Standards set a high benchmark. They go beyond the minimum legal requirements by outlining how well-managed and responsibly governed nonprofits should operate. ETHM embarked upon a multi-year journey of methodically setting policies, procedures and practices in place through capacity building workshops and forums offered by Community Foundation of Prince George’s County, Nonprofit Prince George’s County, and Maryland Nonprofits.

The Standards cover six areas of nonprofit governance, operations and management:
Mission, Strategy and Evaluation
Finance and Operations

Leadership: Board, Staff, and Volunteers
Resource Development

Legal Compliance and Ethics
Public Awareness, Engagement and Advocacy
